Protecting Your New Paint

We know you want to keep your new painted job from unintentional harm. Follow these instructions to keep your car looking great.

  • Hand wash your car for the first 90 days or (if you have to) use a brushless car wash.
  • Use mild car wash detergent.
  • Remove any stains or bird droppings as soon as possible to prevent any acid etching of the finish.
  • Avoid exposure to gasoline or antifreeze since long term exposure can damage even this durable paint.
  • Do not wipe finish with a dry cloth because together with dirt, dust and sand, it acts like sandpaper and scratches the finish.
  • Do not scrape ice or snow from the paint as this can scratch the finish.
  • Do not wax the new finish for the first 90 days. The full curing process takes place over this time.

Do not wash the car in direct sunlight. Water droplets act as a magnifying glass for harmful UV rays of the sun.
